State Quota Seats (42 Seats) - Eligibility Criteria

Criteria Type Requirements
Domicile & Tribal Status
  • Must be from Scheduled Tribe or Scheduled Caste (including Other Scheduled Tribes and SC) of Meghalaya
  • Must hold a valid certificate issued by the competent authority in the State
  • AND
  • Must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya possessing a Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC)
  • PRC issued in accordance with Government of Meghalaya Political Department Letter No. POL.97/74/174 dated 10th July 1983
Academic Eligibility
  • Must have passed 2nd Pre-University Course / Higher Secondary (10+2) / Equivalent Examination
  • English as one of the subjects is mandatory
  • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology taken together
  • For ST/SC/OST candidates: Minimum 40% marks in the aforesaid subjects
  • Must have appeared in NEET-UG 2025 Examination and declared qualified
  • Merit determined strictly on the basis of All-India Rank (AIR) in NEET-UG 2025
Age Criteria
  • Candidate's age shall not be below 17 years on 31st December of the admission year (2025)
Medical Fitness
  • Candidate should be medically fit
  • Must be certified by a medical board constituted by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Meghalaya

Eligibility As per NEET-UG Bulletin 2025
All eligibility criteria will follow the guidelines specified in the NEET-UG 2025 Information Bulletin issued by National Testing Agency (NTA)

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

Reservation
  • 2% reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities
  • In accordance with Government of India norms
  • Refer to National Medical Commission Guidelines (NMCG)
  • Also refer NEET UG-2025 National Testing Agency Information Bulletin Clause 6.2.4 and clause 6.7

Important Notes:

  • NEET-UG 2025 Mandatory: All candidates must have appeared and qualified in NEET-UG 2025 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA)
  • Compliance: Admissions in compliance with Section 10 (D) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (as amended)
  • Supreme Court Orders: In accordance with orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India
  • Reservation Policy: Reservation of seats as per Reservation & Roster policy of the State of Meghalaya
  • Merit Basis: Eligibility strictly based on merit determined by NEET-UG 2025 marks
  • Medical Examination: Selected candidates must undergo medical examination at the Institute
  • Bond Agreement: Selected candidates required to execute a Bond of Agreement as condition of admission
